AI: Cybersecurity Awareness and Guidance

Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, such as ChatGPT and Co-Pilot are tools used to boost productivity, which have changed the way we work and study. However, care must be taken when using these programs to ensure that proper data protection and privacy are taken into consideration. 

Standard

The Office of Information Security is tasked with creating and socializing standards for secure computing at ºÚÁϳԹÏ. This includes the Secure Use of Artificial Intelligence Standard. This standard provides guidance on how to use these tools safely without putting institutional, personal, or proprietary information at risk.

Microsoft Co-Pilot

ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï and Microsoft have a contractual agreement which makes the enterprise version of available to staff, faculty, and students.

OHIO users should log in using their OHIO credentials when using Copilot. This enables commercial data protection, which is essential for safeguarding sensitive information in organizational settings. When commercial data protection is enabled, entered by the user after the chat session is over, nor does it use the organizational data to train the underlying AI model.
