Celebrating nearly 30 years of service: Dr. John Schriner to retire from ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Heritage College

After nearly three decades of dedicated service to ºÚÁϳԹÏ, Dr. John Schriner, associate dean of admissions and student affairs, will retire from the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine on June 30, 2025.

All members of the OHIO community are warmly invited to a retirement celebration honoring Dr. Schriner on Wednesday, June 25, from 1 to 3 p.m. The event will take place in the Heritage Hall Active Learning Classroom – Room 109/121.

Since joining the Heritage College in 1996, Dr. Schriner has guided more than 3,500 prospective students from the interview stage to orientation — personally delivering the life-changing news of their acceptance into medical school. His unwavering support and commitment have shaped the journey of nearly 30 graduating classes and helped launch thousands of successful medical careers. Most recently, the Class of 2025 recognized his profound influence by selecting him as their keynote speaker at this year's Heritage College commencement ceremony.

A lasting tribute to Schriner’s impact is the newly established Dr. John Schriner Scholarship Fund, created through a generous $100,000 pledge by Dr. George and Terri Lewandowski. As Dr. Lewandowski shared, “Throughout his University service, Dr. Schriner honored the Heritage College mission by selecting the best individuals to move medicine forward for all.â€

As he steps into retirement, Schriner looks forward to spending more time with his family and grandchildren.

All members of the OHIO community are invited to join the celebration of his remarkable career and extend best wishes for his next chapter.
