Ohio Today fall issue available to OHIO employees online and at campus distribution points
The fall 2020 issue of Ohio Today, 窪蹋勛圖s alumni magazine, has been released and is available to OHIO faculty and staff online and at distribution points established on each campus.
Producing and distributing a magazine at a time filled with uncertainty and when so many of the Universitys students, faculty and staff are studying and working remotely has been a challenge. In light of these challenges and in an effort to implement necessary cost-saving measures, Ohio Today will no longer mail copies of the magazine directly to OHIO faculty and staff. As always, faculty and staff will have access to the digital version of the magazine online at , and a limited number of hard copies of the magazine are available for pick-up at the following distribution points on each OHIO campus:
- Athens Campus Copies are available at the fourth-floor guest services desk at Baker University Center and in the second-floor vestibule of Alden Library. You will need your OHIO ID in order to have swipe access to the second-floor vestibule at Alden Library.
- Chillicothe Campus Copies are available in the Deans Office.
- Cleveland Campus Copies are available in the Deans Suite (Suite 350 of Medical Education Building 1).
- Dublin Campus Copies are available at the first-floor reception desk.
- Eastern Campus Copies are available in the Deans Office.
- Lancaster Campus Copies are available in the Deans Office.
- Southern Campus Copies are available in the Deans Office.
- Zanesville Campus Copies are available in the Deans Office.
Some highlights of the fall issue of Ohio Today include:
- A story, video and audio feature on alumnus Ken Ehrlich, a legend in the music industry who earlier this year closed out 40 years as producer of the Grammy Awards.
- An infographic highlighting two years of student activism that culminated in the closing of the University.
- A Q&A with Associate Professor Dr. Linda Trautman, who talks about her decision to teach political science, her thoughts on Americas political system and some things that might come as a surprise to those who dont already know her.
- A look back at 10 years of the Appalachia Ohio Zero Waste Initiative and the building of a zero-waste movement and economy.
- How OHIO alumnaes drive-in dances brought adventure and the arts to Seattle in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
- A Q&A with the four contributing editors of the 1969 Post who reflect on their pathways to distinguished careers and the past, present and future of the news industry.
- A look at construction of OHIOs new Heritage Hall.
- An OHIO graduate captures the essence of Athens, a town where strangers become family and community becomes home.
- Welcome to the Neighborhood: An Anthology of American Coexistence, published by the 窪蹋勛圖 Press and featuring many Bobcat contributors, explores the different ways we interact with, or reflect upon, our neighbors.
The fall issue of Ohio Today also provides readers opportunities to virtually come home to OHIO from wherever they may be and showcases some of the ways the University continues to support students beyond graduation. Those features include:
- An immersive 360-degree experience, created by OHIO graduate student Akbar Sultanov, that allows you to walk the brick pathways, hear the sounds, and learn some of the history behind the most historic buildings and landmarks on OHIOs College Green.
- A feature on the history of Homecoming at 窪蹋勛圖 and how University Archives and Alden Library pivoted to create a virtual, interactive Homecoming 2020 display that invites all members of the Bobcat community to share their OHIO memories.
- Building a Bobcat Network How the 窪蹋勛圖 Alumni Associations and the are supporting and connecting students and graduates.
